Here's the step by step look at the development of Atomic Lead #4 cover.1. I started with a small thumb nail sketch. I played around with different elements like the logo and tag line. The idea is to make this look like the old horror/scifi movie posters since the theme for this issue is Monsters.
2. At this stage, I lock down where everything goes and start rendering in a bigger size.
3. This is my tight line work stage which have the final design of the monster and the screaming lady. I also blocked in some colors.
4. Mike Haney took my line work and he worked his magic to bring the whole cover to finish. Final title and credits were the last thing to go on the cover!
